How fire_lead_ms works
Set fire_time to the target arrival
In your job, set fire_time to the exact time you want the order to land at the exchange, by default 09:00:00.000, when the pre-open entry window opens.
Probe the network
Click Measure below. This sends 10 read-only API calls. It is a health check, not a lead recommendation: an order POST passes through margin and risk checks that a profile read never touches.
Set fire_lead_ms from real orders
The observed lead figure is the median of exchange_timestamp − local_fired_at across your own orders. Use it once you have ~20 or more; until then leave fire_lead_ms at 0.
Every order records its own timing breakdown: DNS, TCP, TLS, time-to-first-byte, and whether the connection was reused. An order logged with conn_reused=false paid a handshake at fire time, which costs tens of milliseconds at the worst possible moment.
